Vladimir Voronin Has Expressed Gratitude to the Militaries, Who Participated in International Operations in Iraq

RM President Vladimir Voronin has expressed gratitude to the militaries of the National Army, who participated in international operations on humanitarian assistance and the liquidation of the aftereffects of the conflict in Iraq.

As INTERLIC News agency reports with reference to the governmental press service, Vladimir Voronin has congratulated the Moldovan soldiers and officers on behalf of the citizens and the authorities of the Republic of Moldova for the implementation of their mission and for their high professional skills.

He has noted that the activities of the Moldovan contingent contributed to the increase of our country in the Armed Forces of the coalition.

The President has underlined that the participation of the Moldovan contingent in the international post-conflict humanitarian operations is within the frames of the international community efforts in combating terrorism and providing for peace, security and stability in the world.

The President has noted that the invitation for the Moldovan contingent to participate in the international post-conflict humanitarian operations is an honor for Moldova. Vladimir Voronin has underlined that the Republic of Moldova alongside with other participants in the coalition forces, contributed, as far as they could, to the improvement of the situation in Iraq, the of the post-conflict problems in this country and providing for democratic processes.

The participants in the post-conflict mission in Iraq have reported the complete fulfillment of the tasks of their mission and have declared their readiness to serve to their motherland. They have expressed their satisfaction in the connection with the fact that the activities of the contingent of the RM National Army in the stabilization of the situation in Iraq and creating conditions for the conduct of the first free elections in our country.

The militaries has made a present to RM President Vladimir Voronin – Iraqi voting ballot as a symbol of the democratic electoral process and the realization of the free choice in Iraq.

In the course of the meeting a Presidential Decree on awarding some of the participants of the post-conflict operation in Iraq with the recently instituted orders “Credinta Patriei of the II degree and orders “Credinta Patriei of the III degree was read. Lieutenant-colonel Oleg Ciulcov has been decorated with the order “Credinta Patriei” of the II degree for the courage, manifested by him and his participation in the peacekeeping operation and for his excellent service. Lieutenant Serghei Chilivnic and Major Alexandr Cuciuc have been decorated with the order “Credinta Patriei” of the III degree.

Lieutenant-colonel Serghei Casapciuc and Lieutenant Andrei Peru have been decorated with the medal “Pentru Vietejie”.
