Mediators in the Transnistrian dispute(Russia, Ukraine and OSCE) coordinated the plan of joint actions with a view to resuming the negotiating process on finding a durable solution for the conflict.
The mediators had a meeting with the military experts on April 19 in Vienna, where they continued the work on the materials prepared by the OSCE Mission in Moldova, which regulate different actions related to armament control and measures of trust between the conflicting sides. The mediators consider that the draft documents elaborated by the experts, who used the European experience in the field, can be implemented in the process of political settlement of the Transdniestrian conflict.
According the press service of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, very soon the mediators will present the respective proposals to the Chisinau and Tiraspol representatives.
The process of negotiations in the five-sided format was stopped in December 2003 after Chisinau had refused to sign the so-called Kozak Memorandum suggested by Moscow.
