The Election Council of the Chisinau municipality (ECMC) registered the numbers 3 and 4 candidates to the post of mayor-general of the Moldovan capital on Friday, October 21. Under a ECMC decision, Eduard Musuc, representative of the Social Democratic Party, and Gheorghe Sima, on behalf of the Labour Union Patria Rodina, will attend the electoral race for the November 27 local scrutiny.

ECMC chairman said that both candidates comply with requirements needed to attend the elections. He handed in identity papers of candidates and an order of the ad-interim mayor of Chisinau regarding special places for electoral advertising.

Musuc stated to Info-Prim Neo that he will focus on talks with city residents in the current electoral campaign in order to learn their problems better and to discuss his electoral programme with them.

Sima promised to table a complex city development programme to electors, which will envisage both social, and economic problems. He noted that nobody has unveiled such a programme until now.

Also on Friday, ECMC decided to open 284 polling stations in the Chisinau municipality. It will inform parliamentary parties to present the lists of members of offices within polling stations by October 27.

Six persons have applied for participation in the electoral race for the Chisinau mayor post until now. ECMC has registered four of them and will register another two early next week. October 27 is the deadline for submission of documents.
