The citizens of the EU member states, of the US, Canada, Japan and Switzerland will enter Moldova without visas as of April 1, 2007.
The Government Wednesday passed a bill in an effort to promote the commercial-economic relations with the mentioned countries and increase the volume of foreign investments in Moldova.
Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev said the necessity to cancel the visa regime for the citizens of these countries is confirmed by the experience of the new EU member countries, experience that lays at the basis of the new bill.
When the law takes effect, Moldova’s diplomatic missions will have no more incomes from issuing visas but, as Tarlev said, the state will recover these incomes in an indirect way.
