The Days of the Slavic Written Language and Culture have commenced in Moldova today, and the first event on the program of this annual event was a concert in the National Opera.
The Days, held in Moldova for the 17th time, have become a good tradition here, serving to consolidation of inter-ethnic peace, accord and tolerance, said the Bureau of Inter-Ethnic Relations, the Days organizer.
The Days program includes concerts, language and literature contests, literature disputes, meetings with Slavic scientists, writers and poets, exhibitions of Slavic painters, presentations of new books, exhibitions of ancient artifacts.
Taking part in the Days are universities, lyceums and schools, libraries, museums, theaters and other culture centers, as well as foreign guests - workers of culture from Russia, Bulgaria, Ukraine, and Belarus.
